Mark Lefkow Secures Summary Judgment for Lawyer and Law Firm Clients

July 30, 2020

CSKL Partner Mark Lefkow obtained summary judgment for a lawyer and law firm accused of fraud, breaches of fiduciary duties, conversion, and violation of Georgia’s Fair Business Practices Act. Plaintiff contended that Defendants defrauded him out of an interest in a litigation-related company. The firm’s lawyers developed a deposition record that led to summary judgment being granted in favor of the firm’s clients. The court held that Plaintiff’s admission in his deposition that he had an oral agreement for an ownership interest in a company barred his claims for fraud claiming that he was not given an ownership interest
