Angela Kopet won summary judgment for an insurance company after filing a declaratory judgment action asking the Court for a ruling that there was no coverage available to an insured. The insured had been delivering pizzas for his employer, but detoured before his return trip to his employer’s restaurant to run a personal errand. After running the errand,, he was involved in a multi-vehicle automobile accident that resulted in multiple claims and lawsuits being filed by various parties. Angela argued that the insured’s policy of insurance contained multiple exclusions that precluded coverage for the accident, claims and lawsuits. After oral arguments, the Court agreed and ultimately found that the insurance policy was not in effect due to the limitations imposed by the insurance policy. The motion for summary judgment was granted on behalf of the insurance company.
