Tess M. Heisserer
Associate / Chattanooga
Tess is an associate in the Chattanooga office of Copeland, Stair, Kingma & Lovell. She is a member of the general liability practice group with a particular focus on construction litigation and defending attorneys and design professionals in malpractice actions. Prior to joining CSKL, Tess practiced at a well-established civil defense firm in Southeast Tennessee in a general defense practice with a focus on construction litigation. She has experience litigating cases in construction and design, employment disputes, contracts, intellectual property, legal malpractice and accounting malpractice. Tess is admitted to practice in Tennessee, Missouri and Illinois.
Tess earned her Juris Doctor from the Washington University School of Law. As a law student, Tess was the winner of the 2016 Sports Lawyers Association Writing Contest, a national award presented by the Sports Lawyers Association, and her winning piece was published in the Sports Lawyers Journal. She also interned with Honorable Thomas J. Frawley of the St. Louis Circuit Court and with a team in the National Football League. Tess earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors in Political Science. As an undergraduate student, Tess also studied abroad in Seville, Spain attending classes at the Universidad de Pablo Olavide.
