Casey L. Smartt

Casey is an associate in the Atlanta office of Copeland, Stair, Kingma & Lovell where he practices general civil litigation focusing primarily on the representation of design professionals, contractors and subcontractors as well as construction litigation. Prior to joining CSKL, Casey practiced in a premier civil litigation firm where he managed multiple complex civil litigation matters that included wrongful death, product liability and premises liability from inception to conclusion. There he served as second-chair in jury trial of a multi-million dollar case involving construction and premises liability issues.
Casey received his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. While in law school, he was the President of the Black Law Student Association (BLSA) from 2013-2014, competed in the Student Trial Lawyers Association Moot Court and was the Managing Source Editor of the Denver Journal of International Law & Policy. Casey graduated cum laude from Montana State University-Billings with a Bachelor in Science degree in Political Science.
